July 15, 2008, Kennesaw, Ga., SOCATA TBM-700

At 1457 Eastern time, the airplane was substantially damaged when it rolled inverted and collided with trees while on a landing approach. The private pilot received fatal injuries; visual conditions prevailed. Witnesses heard ATC instruct the pilot to complete an "S" turn so two airplanes could depart. The accident pilot acknowledged the instructions and proceeded to execute the turn.
