January 5, 2010, Auberry, Calif., Bell 206B

At 1209 Pacific time, the helicopter collided with power lines during a public-use, wildlife-surveying flight. The commercial pilot and three passengers were killed. The helicopter was destroyed by a post-crash fire. Visual conditions prevailed at the accident site. Two witnesses observed the helicopter emerge from a valley and fly directly towards their location. The valley was spanned from east to west by power transmission lines
