July 8, 2010, Fallon, Nev., Douglas A-4 Skyhawk

The airplane collided with terrain at about 1340 Pacific time after the pilot ejected following a loss of engine power on takeoff. The airplane was being operated under FAR Part 91 on a local public-use flight under a contract with the U.S. Navy. The airline transport pilot sustained minor injuries. The airplane sustained substantial damage by impact forces and post-crash fire. Visual conditions prevailed.
