May 12, 2011, Washington, Penn., Beech G33 Bonanza

At about 1345 Eastern time, the airplane was substantially damaged during a forced landing. Visual conditions prevailed. The airline transport pilot was seriously injured. The airplane was fueled to the "slots" in each tank after extensive maintenance and an annual inspection were completed on May 11, 2011. Two test runs of the airplane were completed; one by a mechanic and another by the pilot. The owner/operator of the maintenance facility estimated the test runs required approximately 40 minutes to an hour.
