The airplane collided with rough terrain at about 1630 Mountain time, following a total loss of engine power during cruise flight and subsequent forced landing. The pilot and two passengers were not injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage. Visual conditions prevailed. The pilot later stated that, while cruising at about 2000 feet agl, the engine suddenly lost power.
