At about 1350 Alaska standard time, the airplane sustained substantial damage during takeoff following an aborted landing. The solo airline transport pilot was not injured. Visual conditions prevailed for the Part 135 on-demand cargo flight.

The pilot realized the ice-covered runway was slicker than anticipated. He applied power to abort the landing, but was unable to outclimb rising terrain. The airplane collided with terrain, and both wings and the fuselage received substantial damage.
