The airplane was substantially damaged during a forced landing at about 0715 Central time. The pilot and both passengers received minor injuries. Visual conditions VMC prevailed; an IFR flight plan was in effect.

The airplane was in cruise flight at 7000 feet msl when the pilot noticed engine oil pressure had dropped unacceptably. The pilot requested a descent and vectors to a nearby airport. The pilot reported that he had a complete loss of engine power and made an off-airport landing about a mile from the divert airport. During the landing on a soft plowed field, the airplane flipped and came to rest inverted.
