At about 1520 Eastern time, the airplane sustained a total loss of engine power during cruise flight and was landed off-airport. The airline transport pilot and two passengers were not injured. Visual conditions prevailed.

According to the pilot, while in cruise flight, the engine began losing power until the engine ceased operation and he made a forced landing on a paved road. During the landing roll, the airplane nosed over and came to rest inverted, with substantial damage. Prior to departure, the airplane had been refueled.
