At 1225 Mountain time, the airplane was substantially damaged during a runway overrun. Visual conditions prevailed. The captain, first officer and five passengers were not injured. The Mexican-registered flight was taking off at the time of the accident, with a planned destination of Chihuahua, Mexico.

According to telephone conversation with the airport manager and the captain, the left main tire blew during the departure roll. The captain was unable to stop the airplane in the distance remaining. The airplane proceeded past the departure end of the runway and the overrun area 400 feet into deep snow. Both main landing gear collapsed and the right wing buckled.
