The airplane was substantially damaged at noon local time when it impacted terrain during a forced landing. The private pilot was not injured. Visual conditions prevailed.

While en route at 4500 feet, the pilot heard a “loud pop” and the engine began losing power. The pilot notified ATC. He was vectored to a nearby airport, but was unable to reach it and performed a forced landing to a field, during which the airplane nosed over.
