The airplane was substantially damaged at about 0930 Central time when it nosed over during a forced landing following loss of engine power. Visual conditions prevailed; the Private pilot and one passenger were not injured. The pilot later stated he took off, and while on downwind, the engine coughed, sputtered and quit. He said he tried to glide to the runway, but ended up landing between a taxiway and the runway. During the landing roll, the nosewheel dug into the soft dirt and sand as the airplane crossed the taxiway. The airplane nosed over, incurring the damage.
