The airplane was substantially damaged at 1656 Eastern time when it collided with a high-tension power line while on final approach. The private pilot was killed. Night visual conditions prevailed.

The airplane impacted a high-tension power line at about 200 feet below the PAPI glidepath. After contact with the power line, the airplane was catapulted over 400 feet before striking the ground near the end of the runway.
