At about 2000 Central time, the airplane sustained substantial damage when it collided with terrain after a loss of control while performing a visual approach. The private pilot and two passengers were fatally injured. Day visual conditions prevailed.

Several witnesses saw the airplane approach from the west. The reports indicate that the airplane was making a left turn before losing altitude in a “spin.” The airplane then collided with the ground near the north end of the airfield. The impact signatures were consistent with the airplane being in a left-wing-down, nose-low attitude during the collision. There were no reported emergency or distress calls from the pilot.
